Alice & Catherine Murphy and co.

Alice (Alicia Maude) Murphy on her wedding day. 24th May 1887

Trying to decipher the townlands for Alice and Catherine.
The father William I believe is near Crylough Wexford but can’t make out the Ballycane
The mother Catherine I believe was from Cork but possibly also Wexford.
Can’t make out her town either Killinick probably

While reading through the parish baptisms where Alice and Catherine’s were I found some older siblings. These are Ballymore parish records.

Two James’, of which one must have died as an infant and older sister Margaret ( Margret ).

Catherine Coughlin BIRTH 1816 • Killinick, Wexford, Ireland

Two other siblings Mary and Patrick,

I’ve found a suspicious entry for Patrick…..

Patrick Underwood. Father William Underwood. Mother Catherine Coughlin. I think it is him!
Did the priest put the wrong name in by mistake?
Did William Murphy die and remarry Catherine Coughlin and then have a child?
Is this another family with a very rare Catherine Coughlin in the same town of Killinick?

And who is Mary? The only one missing… will look for a Mary Underwood now?

Another curveball…

The only marriage I can find in this same register is to a William Furlong and Catherine Coughlin in Nov 1841 and a quick check of DNA matches shows me with a lot of Wexford Furlongs.. a name I hadn’t seen in my tree before… not making much sense.

Below are two Boston photos… They could be Alice’s siblings Margaret? James? Patrick? Murphy, but also could be Henrietta McEntyre and her husband Patrick Tallon who also went to the U.S
