Wednesday Night Training

4 starters, one late comer, one early DNF (1 lap).
Still a bit too cold for everybody I suppose but as I live so close I have no excuse not to go. Plus I love this training.
The secret to winning is to warm up. I don’t think anybody warmed up tonight except me. This helps a lot. The early retiree was obviously hurting after the fast start and he had to go home. I’m a bit of a bully in this respect as I know I’m warmed up and I will push the pace on the first lap at sections that suit me and let everybody else keep that pace till we enter the sprint zone. I just wait then till it’s time to pounce and away I go. Rinse and repeat. If I’m bushed I have a rest for a lap. I kind of got dropped on 2 laps and took the short cut up the center of the course to re-group. ( a few others did this too after they learnt the trick from me.
To cut a short story long. I had 6 wins tonight out of the 10 laps. A reduced field helped as well as some of the faster guys not showing.

Here is the heart rate data.

Polar

The 100km on Saturday and the 10km Monday night jog certainly helped as well.
Why pay for racing when I can do this every week?

From March Semas will be coming back for Tuesday nights. (Twice a week?).

Coming home tonight I did an extra lap to make sure I clocked 50km to the front door.
